Our Ya'in Kafrisin Dry Red 2007 is the first Kosher wine in Cyprus in more than 2000 years.
Ya’in Kafrisin (Wine of Cyprus) was used to steep one of the 11 spices used for the “Ketores” - Incenses, in the Holy Temple, specified in the Bible (Exodus 30:34).
For the first time in modern history, you can enjoy this special wine, exclusively produced by Lambouri Winery.
The combination of Mavro, Grenache Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon, create this medium- to full-bodied wine.
It is soft, gently caressing tannins and good balancing acidity. Opens to show an appealing range of blackcurrant, blackberry, purple plum fruits and notes of bitter orange peel, those on a background of white pepper and oriental spices, with the tannins and fruits rising on the finish.
The colour is dark garnet with orange and purple reflections.
Grapes: Mavro, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Grenache Noir
Body: medium to full
Color: dark garnet with orange and purple reflection
Aroma: blackcurrant, blackberry, plum
Kosher Certificates: OU and Kosher Cyprus certified,
Supervision: Rabbi Zeev Raskin, co-director of Chabad-Lubavitch of Cyprus, in cooperation with Rabbi Pinchas Leibush Padwa, director of kosher supervision for the European Council of Jewish Communities.
